Site Supervisor; Alsagers Bank Primary Academy

Alsagers Bank Primary Academy (part of Societas) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly skilled and well-motivated Site Supervisor to join our hardworking and committed team.

Job details: 10 hours per week (normally 2 hours per day – hours may be adjusted to complete tasks). Hours of work to be agreed (term time + 4 weeks).

To assist in the maintenance and security of the school premises and site, ensuring a safe working environment, as directed.

• Keep records relating to maintenance and security
• Perform duties in line with health and safety regulations
• Undertake general portage duties including moving furniture and equipment within the school
• Undertake minor repairs and improvements including minor plumbing, joinery, electrical work and internal decoration and maintenance
• Replace consumables on the premises in appropriate locations not covered by alternative arrangements, e.g. light bulbs
• Operate systems such as heating, lighting and security
• Collect and assemble waste for collection when required
• Periodic cleaning of designated areas of the school building and grounds
• Act as a designated key holder, providing emergency access to the school site
• Secure the premises out of hours in the case of school events / polling etc.
• Attend to out of hours call outs, liaising with the alarm control centre accordingly
• Act as school contact in relation to premises-related contractors
• Ensure that premises are in a safe, tidy and satisfactory condition prior to use
• Clean designated areas not covered by alternative arrangements (e.g. outside areas, car parks, drains, gullies, boiler house, stores) to ensure they are free of litter / debris / animal excrement
• Clean windows and clear gutters
• Ensure clear and safe pedestrian access to the school, particularly in adverse weather conditions (e.g. snow clearing, gritting)
• Undertake repairs, projects and redecoration tasks as appropriate
• Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection; report all concerns to an appropriate person
• Be aware of, support and ensure equal opportunities for all
• Contribute to the overall ethos, work, and aims of the school
• Appreciate and support the role of other professionals
• Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required
• Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required
• Any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as directed by the Headteacher

The post holder will be expected to observe safe working practices in carrying out the required duties and ensure that instructions specified by technical consultants, contractors and manufacturers are adhered to.
