Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Director to lead and grow their hydro ecology service offering. This is a strategic leadership role, providing the opportunity to shape technical direction, influence industry standards, and deliver innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges. Hydro ecology plays a critical role in climate resilience and ecosystem protection, and this position offers a platform to drive meaningful, measurable impact across the sector.

• Define and implement technical strategy for hydro ecology and water management
• Provide thought leadership through publications, conferences and industry engagement
• Lead innovation and research initiatives, collaborating with academic and industry partners
• Champion technical excellence, quality assurance and continuous improvement
• Mentor and develop technical teams, supporting capability growth
• Lead strategic project delivery and act as Project Director on key commissions
• Build and maintain strong client and partner relationships
• Identify and develop new business opportunities, partnerships and frameworks

• Recognised authority in hydro ecology with a strong track record of sector influence
• Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into practical solutions
• Strategic mindset with experience shaping technical direction
• Strong commercial awareness and experience managing high-value projects

• Degree (BSc and/or MSc) in ecology, environmental science or related discipline
• Chartered Environmentalist (or equivalent professional accreditation)
• Right to work in the UK
