Band 8aJob overviewWe are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join the Urgent & Acute Clinical Business Unit, as the Emergency Medicine Matron.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Nurse with a passion for excellence in patient care and team leadership. In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to the Nursing and AHP workforce, ensuring the highest standards of clinical quality, patient safety, and governance are consistently maintained.
You will work closely with the Directorate Team to drive service improvement, support staff development, and deliver outstanding patient outcomes.
Main duties of the jobTo provide senior leadership to the nursing and allied health professional workforce within the directorate(s) to deliver frontline professional and operational priorities and manage the ward and departmental Nurse Managers and specialist nurses. To support the Clinical Directors and as part of the Directorate management team develop, implement and monitor quality and business plans for the directorates. To facilitate staff and team development and ensure effective communication systems operate within the Directorates.
The matron is expected to work for the clinical and business success of the directorate and to contribute to the corporate success of the Trust. This will require innovation and may include participation in the development of corporate polices and strategic plans and initiating changes in line with Trust Management team decisions to local services.
