Practice Manager

Burbage Surgery, a rural GP practice serving around 4,200 patients, is seeking a Practice Manager to share the day-to-day running of the practice with the current manager and Lead GP. The post covers clinical governance, HR, business administration and keeping communication flowing across the team. It is surgery-based, ideally 20 to 30 hours a week with hours open to negotiation, and suits either someone with GP practice experience or an experienced manager moving into the NHS.

Flexibility to attend meetings and cover administrative duties is essential.

• Provide leadership in delivering safe and effective patient care
• Share responsibility for the day-to-day running of the practice with the current Practice Manager and Lead GP

• Experience in GP practice management
• Experience running a busy department, small business or practice
• Excellent verbal and written communication and good listening skills
• Understanding of, or experience in, HR processes and dealings
• Good IT skills and understanding of technology
• Experience in finance, accounts, planning and organising
• Understanding of confidentiality and information governance
• Conscientious, reliable and trustworthy, able to work under pressure and motivate a team through change
