MIG Welder​/Fabricator

We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our clients dynamic manufacturing and service teams. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of welding techniques and the ability to work with various materials, particularly sheet metal. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality welds that meet industry standards.

• DAYS & NIGHT SHIFTS AVAILABLE.
• x1.33 Shift allowance on top for night shift.
• Temp to perm placement (Permanent contract offered after completing 12 week placement).
• Immediate starts available after successful completion of interview & weld test.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on various components and assemblies, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.
• Utilise stick welding techniques as required for specific projects.
• Operate power tools and hand tools efficiently to assist in the fabrication and assembly of metal structures.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine project requirements.
• Fabricate metal parts as per specifications, ensuring precision and accuracy in measurements.
• Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects within deadlines while maintaining safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in MIG welding; additional experience in stick welding is advantageous.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various power tools and hand tools effectively.
• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes is preferred.
• Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
• A valid welding certification or relevant qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
