Role OverviewAs an Electrical Assembly Technician, you will join a dedicated production team responsible for building technically complex, high-quality products. Working closely with Manufacturing Engineers and the Cargo Research Team, you will support the assembly of next-generation systems while contributing to product quality, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities- Assemble and wire electrical panels, control boxes, and sub-assemblies in line with schematics and wiring diagrams
- Install electrical components including switches, relays, circuit breakers, and terminal blocks
- Carry out continuity checks, insulation resistance testing, and functional testing
- Identify and resolve wiring issues or component discrepancies during the build process
- Maintain accurate records of assembly activities, test results, and modifications
- Operate in compliance with ISO
9001 audited quality systems - Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on technical issues
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with 5S principles
- Demonstrate behaviours aligned with the company’s Code of Ethics and core values:
Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline
- Experience in electrical or electro-mechanical assembly
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
- Confident use of hand tools, crimping tools, and soldering equipment
- Understanding of basic electrical safety standards and practices
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (Acceptability of Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies)
- Experience in panel building, PLC wiring, or control systems
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments
