Location: Stoke-on-Trent

A long-established precision engineering company in Stoke on Trent is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist (Turning Setter/Operator) to join its manufacturing team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will programme, set and operate Fanuc-controlled Turning machines, producing high-quality precision engineered components for a wide range of industries.

The role offers a competitive salary up to £37,500 per year dependent on experience, company bonus scheme, generous annual leave, free onsite parking and excellent overtime opportunities with enhanced rates of pay.

As the CNC Machinist (Turning Setter/Operator) your key responsibilities will be:
  • Programming, setting and operating Fanuc-controlled Turning machines.
  • Producing high-quality precision machined components to engineering drawings.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances.
  • Carrying out tooling changes and machine set‑ups.
  • Inspecting finished components to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Identifying and resolving machining issues where required.
  • Maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
  • Supporting production targets whilst maintaining high standards of workmanship.
The CNC Machinist (Turning Setter/Operator) will have the following skills and experience:
  • Previous experience programming, setting and operating Fanuc-controlled Turning machines is essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong background within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Practical problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach.

You will be working 37-hours per week between 8.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Thursday, with Friday's off. Overtime is regularly available and paid at enhanced rates of providing excellent earning potential.
