CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator Newcastle-under-Lyme | Permanent Position | 4-Day Working Week Contek Recruitment are currently representing a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, who are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator to join their busy and growing Turning Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist to join a successful and expanding business that specialises in the manufacture of high-precision components for a variety of demanding industries.

The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines to produce high-quality precision components in line with customer specifications and engineering drawings. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines Fanuc controls (Or similar G-code systems) Manufacturing precision components to tight tolerances Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications Selecting appropriate tooling and machining strategies Performing first-off inspections and in-process quality checks Making tooling and offset adjustments as required Ensuring components meet quality and production requirements Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment Supporting continuous improvement activities within the department Working closely with colleagues across production and quality teams Candidate Requirements To be considered for this role, applicants should possess:

- Proven experience as a CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator with Fanuc control knowledge
- Strong knowledge of CNC turning processes and machining techniques
- Experience programming and setting CNC lathes independently
- Ability to work from engineering drawings with minimal supervision
- Experience producing precision components to tight tolerances
- Good understanding of cutting tools, materials and machining parameters
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused approach
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude

Experience with in a precision engineering or subcontract machining environment would be advantageous. Working Hours Monday to Thursday 37 basic contracted hours per week Enjoy a genuine three-day weekend every week Overtime Available Regular overtime opportunities are available on:
