Fettler/Sponger (Pottery)
Location:
ST4
Working schedule: 6am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm, rotating shifts, Monday to Friday
Rate of pay: £12.75ph
Contract type:
Temporary ongoing
Adecco are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fettler/Sponger to join our client's production team. This hands-on role is essential to ensuring their ceramic products meet the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
As a Fettler/Sponger, you will be responsible for finishing ceramic ware by removing mould lines, smoothing surfaces, repairing minor imperfections, and preparing items for drying and firing.
Key Responsibilities
Remove seams, mould marks, and excess clay from cast ceramic products.
Sponge and smooth surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish.
Inspect products for defects and carry out minor repairs where required.
Handle ceramic ware carefully to prevent damage during processing.
Maintain quality standards throughout the fettling and sponging process.
Work efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines.
Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety procedures.
Requirements
Previous experience in fettling, sponging, or ceramics production is essential
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Good manual dexterity and practical skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
