We're looking for a Cup Maker (Cup Shop Operative) to join our Cup Shop Department. This is a hands‑on manufacturing role where you'll be responsible for producing clay cups using specialist machinery while ensuring every item meets our high-quality standards.

Hours of WorkMonday to Thursday: 7:00am – 3:30pm
Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
£12.76 per hour.
About the RoleAs a Cup Maker, you'll manufacture clay cups using production machinery, ensuring products are made to the correct weight and quality standards. You'll monitor machine performance, change moulds when required, carry out production recording activities and help maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
Working as part of the Cup Shop team, you'll play an important role in producing products that meet the high standards expected across our business.
Key Responsibilities- Produce clay cups to the correct weight and specification.
- Monitor product quality and ensure all cups meet the required standards.
- Report persistent clay faults to the Team Leader.
- Change moulds as required to maintain production efficiency.
- Ensure cups are sponged correctly and monitor vacuum performance.
- Report machine issues to the Cup Tool Setter promptly.
- Record production counts and machine downtime accurately.
- Reset clocks daily and operate vacuum controls as required.
- Follow all Health & Safety regulations, Company policies and safe working practices.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work area at all times.
- Support the department by carrying out other reasonable duties as required.
To be successful in this role, you'll:
- Have a good standard of English and Maths.
- Have at least one year's experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrate good attendance and timekeeping.
- Be willing to work reasonable overtime when required.
- Be flexible and willing to support other areas of the business when needed.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Be comfortable receiving instruction and direction from managers and supervisors.
- Have excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify problems quickly.
- Be confident communicating ideas and suggestions to improve processes.
- Take ownership of your workload and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
- Communicate openly and honestly with colleagues and managers.
- Demonstrate a desire to succeed both personally and as part of a successful team.
You'll receive full on-the-job training, including Manual Handling training and any refresher training required for the role.
