An opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse or midwife to join a small team of maternity vaccinators. You will work as part of the vaccinators to ensure eligible birthing people are offered vaccinations in pregnancy.
Key Responsibilities- Travel to community clinics to administer vaccinations.
- Maintain accurate patient records in line with professional standards and local guidelines.
- Report all complaints/incidents immediately to a senior member of staff and document accordingly; signpost patients to the Patient, Advice and Liaison Service.
- Participate in the Trust appraisal process each year, with the first appraisal taking place within the first 6 months from appointment.
- Ensure communication channels are used appropriately and effectively to facilitate the flow of information throughout the Division.
- Respond to queries or escalations to the clinical supervisor.
- Provide specialist advice and technical services regarding the care of patients considering and receiving vaccinations.
- Handle difficult conversations (sensitive, language barriers, hostile atmosphere) and convert complex technical information into easily understandable communication.
- Support junior staff in the provision of care, including training in the use of protocols as needed.
- Work as an effective team member, demonstrate good personal communication skills, and actively promote excellent team and interdisciplinary relationships.
- Demonstrate appropriate assertiveness and ability to challenge others when the rights of patients may be affected.
- Registered nurse or qualified midwife.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
- Available for weekend work and travel to community clinics.
