Job summary

Looking for your next career challenge?

Are you an experienced nurse looking for a role that’s varied, rewarding and makes a real difference every single day?

Do you thrive in an acute environment, enjoy autonomous decision-making, and want to develop advanced clinical skills while supporting patients through some of their most challenging moments?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Specialist Practitioner to join our innovative, nurse-led Oncology and Haematology Triage Team

Main duties of the job

Our service provides specialist telephone triage, clinical assessment and urgent support for oncology and haematology patients seven days a week. We play a key role in the early recognition and management of treatment-related complications and oncological emergencies.

Working across both the telephone triage service and the Triage Assessment Area, you will assess and support patients, helping determine the most appropriate pathway of care, whether that is self‑management, urgent review or hospital admission.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will encounter a wide range of acute oncology and haematology presentations and can develop advanced assessment, decision‑making and leadership skills.
