At UHNM we are developing a Corporate AHP team, integrated with the NMAHP structure to support our large AHP workforce and the services they deliver. We are a supportive and friendly team dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care to our service users. We serve a diverse community and are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Allied Health Professional with a passion for education and supporting newly qualified AHPs through their preceptorship period.
The role requires the post holder to develop and implement an AHP preceptorship programme to ensure that novice practitioners develop the relevant competencies to successfully complete their preceptorship in line with the national AHP preceptorship framework and Band 5 roles and responsibilities. Development of the programme of preceptorship for those transitioning to new roles and joining the trust will be part of this work programme.
It will require partnership working with Placement Education Facilitators, incoming Professional Advocate AHP Leads, Chief AHP Fellows and those in education roles as well as being part of the wider CeNREE team.
The postholder will provide leadership and professional support across UHNMs 9 Allied Health Professions by supporting newly qualified AHPs in their first year of practice through their preceptorship period, including the use of innovative approaches to practice development and leadership, whilst providing expert advice in accordance with current evidence, professional standards and national guidance. This work will be undertaken in close collaboration with system partners and the NMAHP team.
The post holder will ensure that all preceptorship programmes are aligned to national guidance, professional body requirements, and profession-specific standards for Allied Health Professionals. They will work collaboratively to ensure alignment between preceptorship, competency development frameworks, and wider workforce transformation and professional development initiatives, supporting the delivery of a highly skilled, confident, and sustainable AHP workforce. As well as to coordinate and provide professional support, educational input and development opportunities for newly registered AHP staff joining substantive posts, preceptors, rotational programmes or staff banks across the Trust.
The successful candidate will be supported by members of the corporate AHP education team and a supportive senior leadership team within CeNREE and individual AHP professional groups.
