Overview
Shape the future of clinical research in the UK – and see your work translate into better outcomes for patients living with serious chronic diseases.
Your new roleAs Trial Manager I, you will lead the delivery of clinical trials in the UK from site selection through to database lock and archiving, ensuring every study runs in line with the protocol, ICH‑GCP, UK legislation and Novo Nordisk SOPs. You will be the driving force behind your trials, connecting global Trial Squads with local CRAs and CTAs to bring new therapies one step closer to patients.
Day‑to‑dayresponsibilities
- Act as project manager for assigned clinical trials within the CDC – owning strategy, feasibility, recruitment, retention, risk management, database lock and archiving.
- Lead the CDC project team (CRAs, CTAs and other relevant roles), plan and conduct trial team meetings, and co‑monitor based on project risks.
- Manage the country budget, drive study start‑up in collaboration with the study start‑up unit, and oversee clinical supplies processes including import and local depot set‑up.
- Consolidate CDC input on key trial documents, systems and vendors (e.g., CRF, diary) and keep CTMS updated at the trial country level.
- Monitor recruitment and retention, review and approve monitoring visit reports and protocol deviations, and ensure data cleaning and DBL deliverables per the Data Flow Plan.
- Coordinate communication between Trial Squads, CRAs and local/regional stakeholders, proactively escalate risks and support issue resolution with trial vendors.
- Plan and execute local Investigator and Monitor meetings, and support global equivalents where required.
- Ensure full compliance with ICH‑GCP, the ABPI Code of Practice, Novo Nordisk Business Ethics, quality standards and your Personal Compliance Plan, and facilitate audits and inspections as required.
As part of Global Trial Portfolio (GTP) you will join one of our largest operational units. Within GTP, you will join the UK Clinical Development Centre (CDC) – the team responsible for delivering Novo Nordisk’s clinical trial portfolio in the UK. We work in close partnership with global Trial Squads, local CRAs, investigators and sites to ensure trials are executed to the highest quality, on time and in full compliance.
Here, your work will directly shape the evidence that brings new treatments to patients.
- Proven experience managing clinical trials, ideally including multi‑centre studies; experience as a senior CRA looking to take the next step into trial management is highly relevant, and international trial co‑ordination or exposure to more than one phase of development is a plus.
- Strong project and resource management skills, with the ability to drive deliverables forward across a complex stakeholder landscape.
- Excellent knowledge of clinical trial methodology and up‑to‑date understanding of the clinical trials environment across Europe – ICH‑GCP, regulatory requirements and SOPs – along with a solid grasp of the drug development process (current GCP training and certification required).
- Computer literacy and IT proficiency, including CTMS, EDC and Veeva Vault.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English, with the diplomacy and self‑drive to influence, align and inspire teams both locally and globally.
The company offers a global perspective with opportunities to learn and develop around the world, supported by a benefits package designed for your career and life stage.
