Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Deputy Store Manager (Shop Floor)

Working alongside the Store Manager, you will play a key role in leading the day‑to‑day operation of the Store, inspiring colleagues to perform at their best and ensuring customers enjoy a welcoming, well‑stocked and brilliantly run shopping experience every time they visit.

The Role
  • Lead by example to deliver exceptional customer service and create a positive shopping experience
  • Motivate, coach and develop colleagues to achieve their full potential
  • Support the delivery of strong commercial results by driving sales, labour productivity and stock control
  • Help create a high‑performing, engaged and customer‑focused team culture
  • Ensure the Store is always clean, full, priced and ready to trade
  • Support effective rota planning and daily operational management
  • Conduct regular shop floor walks, identifying opportunities to improve service and sales
  • Support recruitment, training, performance management and succession planning
  • Deputise for the Store Manager when required and confidently lead the Store operation
  • Promote company values, standards and behaviours at all times
What We are Looking For
  • Previous experience in a retail supervisory or management role
  • Strong leadership and people development skills
  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of retail KPIs
  • Excellent communication and organisational skillsA proactive and positive approach to problem solving
  • The ability to influence, engage and motivate others
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast‑moving retail environment
