Field/Service Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Summary
The Field Service Technician ensures that customers can use Mobile Water Solutions - rental equipment safely and efficiently to support an optimal performance. Activities include technical support installation, commissioning and maintenance services for mobile water treatment equipment that is rented out to customers. The Field Service Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining customer satisfaction and fostering positive relationships with clients and rental companies.

- Installation – Setting up and installing equipment at the customer's location, ensuring it functions correctly and safely.
- Maintenance – Performing routine maintenance and inspections to keep the equipment in good working condition during the rental period.
- Repairs – Troubleshooting and repairing equipment if it breaks down or experiences technical issues during the rental period.
- Customer Support – Providing technical support and guidance to customers regarding the proper use and maintenance of the equipment, interacting with customers to understand their equipment needs and address any issues or concerns.
- Documentation – Maintaining detailed records of equipment maintenance and repairs, including service reports, parts replacements, and work performed.
- QHSE – Ensuring all assets are kept in safe condition, including fire extinguishers and first aid kits, enforcing risk assessments during deployment of mobile assets, ensuring sub‑contractors are H&S approved and operating according to plans, and reporting any incidents, near‑misses, or hazards promptly to management.
- This role will be based out of our Stoke depot with travel around the UK to client sites as/when required.
- Holidays – 25 days plus bank holidays, buy and sell scheme available.
- Probationary Period – 6 months.
- Pension – Can join immediately or auto‑enrolled after 3 months – Employee 5% and Employer 5% via salary sacrifice.
- Eligible to join Private Healthcare.
- Enrolled in Group Income Protection and Death in Service (4 x basic salary) upon commencement of employment.
- Notice – 1 week during probation, increasing to 1 month thereafter.
- Technical (vocational) school diploma or equivalent mechanical and electrical work experience.
- Proven work experience as Field Service Technician/Engineer (in the water industry) or a similar role (e.g., equipment maintenance, repair, or a related field) for at least 3+ years.
- Experience and proven capability to work across cultures, borders, and different methods of executing business within an international team.
