Job Description
Services Welfare Officer - Salary of £25,148 per annum which increases to £27,518 following probation.
Based at one of the military bases within the UK (relocating to a new site every two years).
Hours:
36 per week over 6 days per week, includes evening and weekend working.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with young adults
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
- Self‑motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently
- Willingness to relocate and live in military accommodation away from home for extended periods
- Full UK driving licence and UK passport
- Relevant experience (e.g., youth work, social work, teaching)
- Experience networking with agencies
- Knowledge of the military environment although not essential
- Provide impartial welfare support to service personnel and make referrals to the Chain of Command or appropriate agencies when needed.
- Ensure the smooth running of Services Welfare Centres, maintaining high standards in operations, activities, and health & safety.
- Offer insight into morale by compiling monthly statistics and supporting the Chain of Command.
- Build strong relationships with welfare agencies and attend welfare meetings.
- Represent Services Welfare at formal functions, exhibitions, and events.
- Occasionally deliver induction presentations and attend training courses.
- Work flexibly, including occasional out‑of‑hours support.
- Salary of £25,148 per annum, rising to £27,518 after successful completion of a 6‑month probationary period
