Job Summary
The Community Payback Supervisor role involves supervising offenders on unpaid community work placements. The supervisor may drive service vehicles, oversee manual tasks such as clearing overgrowth or installing benches, and ensure tasks are completed safely and effectively. The role requires a full UK Manual Driving Licence and involves up to seven hours of supervision per day, with frequent weekend and evening work.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise small teams of offenders during unpaid work placements.
- Ensure work tasks such as clearing overgrowth, installing public facilities, and graffiti removal are completed to the required standard.
- Monitor personal welfare, maintaining well‑being and safety standards.
- Coordinate transport of offenders and equipment using service vehicles.
- Maintain accurate records of hours worked and tasks completed.
- Report progress and any incidents to senior management.
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence – automatic licences are not accepted.
- Right to work in the UK and compliance with civil service nationality rules.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours as required.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Experience working with diverse groups of offenders is highly desirable.
Full‑time and part‑time positions are available. Standard hours are 37 per week for full‑time; part‑time arrangements are considered on a case‑by‑case basis. Some flexibility is offered in terms of hybrid working, subject to operational requirements.
