Role Description

Youth Workers and Mentors at Dizzy Heights provide direct support to young people through group sessions, one-to-one mentoring, and informal learning activities. In this full-time, on-site role based in Stoke-On-Trent and across staffordshire, team members plan and deliver engaging programs that promote personal growth, social skills, and emotional well-being. Daily responsibilities include building trusting relationships with young people, listening to their needs, and offering guidance on challenges they face at home, school, or in the community.

The role involves collaborating with colleagues and external partners, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for all participants. Youth Workers and Mentors also help organise sessions, outreach activities, and feedback sessions to continuously improve services.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess skills in Youth Work and Youth Services to plan, deliver, and evaluate youth-focused programs.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Youth Mentoring and Social Work to provide one-to-one support, advocacy, and guidance to young people.
  • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to build rapport, facilitate group activities, and engage with parents, schools, and community partners.
  • Relevant experience working with young people in community, education, or voluntary settings is highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and creating safe, inclusive environments for young people is essential.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, maintain accurate documentation, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Qualifications in youth work, social work, education, or a related field (or equivalent experience) are an advantage.
