Position: Senior Social Worker - Corporate Parenting 14-17 Council
Our client, Stoke-on-Trent Council, is seeking Advanced Practitioners for the Corporate Parenting 14-17 team. This is a temporary ongoing post, paid at £42 per hour. Please let me know if you are interested? Or can you refer a friend for £300 if placed? The role will involve the following:
The work of the Corporate Parenting 14–17 Team focuses on supporting looked after young people through adolescence, helping them build resilience, develop independence skills and prepare positively for adulthood and leaving care. This includes undertaking pathway planning, supporting young people to develop practical life skills, promoting education, employment and training opportunities, maintaining important family and support networks, and helping young people move towards independence in a safe and planned way.

Hold and manage a caseload of looked after young people aged 14–17. Complete assessments, care plans, pathway plans and statutory visits. Develop strong, trusting relationships with young people and advocate on their behalf. Lead effective multi-agency planning to improve outcomes. Support young people to develop practical independence skills such as budgeting, cooking, travel training, accessing services and managing appointments. Prepare young people for leaving care and transition into adulthood.

Promote education, training, employment and future aspirations. Support young people to understand and manage risk while encouraging age-appropriate independence. Maintain a strong focus on safeguarding, permanence and positive transitions. Ensure the voice of the young person is central to all planning and decision-making. Requirements of the role:
Qualified Social Worker Fully Social Work England registered 3 years post-qualified experience in employment of a local authority (DFE rules) Must have significant experience working with children and young people who are looked after and/or leaving care Please contact me asap to discuss in more detail.
