Senior Software Developer, Trading and Tools

Job Description

As a Senior Software Developer, you will collaborate with a team of skilled professionals dedicated to the development, enhancement and support of our cutting-edge Sports Trading Platform.

Working within the Trading and Tools team, you will lead the development of a diverse range of applications, including desktop solutions, such as WPF & Win Forms, backend services such as .NET & Golang, and SQL Server stored procedures.

Your contribution will be vital in delivering real-time data through our innovative trading platform. This will empower the trading department to create, configure and trade both sporting and non-sporting events, enabling customers to place bets on a vast array of outcomes.

Our technology stack features C#.NET, SQL Server, and Golang, with in-house training provided to further enhance your skills and this role presents exciting challenges in a hardworking, delivery-focused environment.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company's hybrid working from home policy.

• Extensive commercial C# experience.
• Solid understanding of Windows applications and services.
• Coaching and mentoring experience on technical subject areas.
• Commercial exposure to Golang.
• Commercial MS SQL Server experience.
• Exposure to WPF or willingness to learn.
• Self-driven with ability to understand complex architecture.
• Demonstrable experience of delivering high quality and scalable software solutions.
• Self-motivation and delivery orientated in a fast-paced environment with a flair for problem solving.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Developing low latency, highly available and scalable solutions that process high volumes of data.
• Creating work effort estimates.
• Contributing to solution proposals as required.
• Supporting and enhancing the existing code base and performing root cause analysis to create solutions to stop fault reoccurrence.
• Enhancing and supporting existing trading functions, some of which are used 24/7.
• Supporting Product Owners as required.
• Mentoring and supporting less experienced development staff.
• Supporting the testing team during testing phases of projects.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to support team members professional development.
• Identifying technical areas of improvement.
