Class 2 Driver

Freeway Recruitment are actively seeking Class 2 Home delivery Drivers to work for their client who are a multi national DIY and building materials supplier.

Class 2 driver

£15.50 per hour PAYE, Overtime paid at £23.25 per hour for anything after 9 hours per shift Monday to Friday and all day Saturday and £31.00 per hour for all work carried out on a Sunday or Bank Holiday.

Monday to Friday

If you want overtime, Saturday is all day and Sunday or a Bank Holiday is available as overtime.

Normal start times – 11:00 am. Shift is 9 hours with a 1 hour break deducted. Paid for a minimum of 8 hours per shift.

You will be working in a double manned team, delivering building and home DIY products to customers' houses. Vehicles used are either 7.5 tonne or 10 tonne box waggons with a tail lift. Your responsibilities are to arrive on site on time, complete a 15 minute walk-around, and then help your porter or second driver load the vehicle with the runs for the day.

Deliveries involve both palletised and handball items, with some heavier than usual items expected. Normal deliveries can fluctuate from 10 to 15 per day with inter-store collections and returns.

• Have a full and valid Class 2 Licence and have held it for a minimum of 2 years with at least 2 years experience operating a Class 2 vehicle
• 12–15 MONTHS is also accepted providing that you have no gaps and continuous driving experience in that time up to the present date
• No more than 6 points on licence with no DR, DD, IN, CD or other endorsements that lead to a ban
• A full and valid Tacho card and an in‑date valid CPC Qualification with card
• Experience of working within the home delivery sector would be an advantage although not essential
