Staff Accountant

Accountants One has a client near Stone Mountain, GA that is seeking an accomplished Staff Accountant to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in financial operations while driving process improvements in a mission‑driven, people‑focused environment. In this position, you’ll partner closely with leadership to deliver accurate financial reporting, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.

The Accountant is responsible for managing the collection and recording of all pertinent financial data and transactions and ensuring that resources are handled properly in accordance with and consistent with the business plan.

$65,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading improvements in accounting processes and internal systems
• Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for senior management
• Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls; support auditors during annual audits
• Day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger management
• Collaboration with the Director of Accounting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, and financial reporting
• At least 3 years of accounting experience
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Proficient in accounting software and Excel
• Preferred: prior experience in senior living or healthcare, familiarity with Matrix Care software
