Summary of Responsibilities
The Packaging Designer is responsible for creating and updating product packaging for the HOC brand portfolio. This position requires technical production skills and is a highly collaborative role to create new innovations and to ensure existing packaging is maintained and in compliance with industry regulations.
Key Duties Include- Product Design – Must be able to design and modify artworks for labels, cartons, film, etc.
- Pre-Production – Must know how to properly set up artworks for production and be familiar with print techniques and processes.
- Compliance & Sustainability – Must ensure packaging meets regulatory standards while incorporating sustainable elements into the packaging artworks.
- Collaboration – Work with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to execute a design through to production. This involves the creation of a design, the selection of PMS colors, reviewing proofs and material samples.
- Project Management – Manage multiple packaging projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
- Sharepoint File Organization – Help organize and maintain the Product Packaging Library of shared assets. Work closely with Creative Director to ensure proper filing and naming of files.
- Mock Up Creation – Develop prototypes and mockups to present design concepts for internal and external clients.
- Strong graphic design skills, creativity and attention to detail
- Strong technical skills in print production
- Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Understanding packaging materials, production processes and relevant industry regulations
- Time management skills
- Problem-solving abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field such as Illustration, Print Production or Industrial Design
Must present a visual portfolio of creative work
Proficient with 3D mock up design software
Proven experience working as a packaging designer
Working Conditions- Hybrid in office schedule
- Travel for press checks may be required on occasion
