Stone Mountain Middle School is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional for the  school year. Candidates will support teachers in meeting students' educational, behavioral, and social‑emotional needs in both classroom and community settings. The role requires a strong desire to help students learn, collaboration with team members, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Assist students with physical needs, including feeding, toileting, lifting, and mobility.
• Assist students with health‑care procedures, including hygiene and medications as needed for daily care.
• Provide small groups and/or individualized instruction to students, in accordance with lesson plans developed by the teacher.
• Monitor students before and after school and during other non‑instructional transitional periods.
• Assist teachers with daily classroom management activities designed to ensure that students demonstrate behavior conducive to an effective learning environment.
• Assist teachers with the assessment of student performance (standardized and non‑standardized testing) and other record‑keeping tasks.
• Assist teachers with the development and organization of appropriate instructional materials for use with students and ensure the availability of these materials prior to scheduled instructional segments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• OR Associate degree or higher from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission–approved accredited college or university.
• OR Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses completed with a GPA of 2.0 or higher from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission–approved accredited college or university.

• Must obtain a valid Professional Standards Commission‑approved paraprofessional certificate.
