Title:Director, Assessment Administration
Maintains accountability for actions that impact multiple departments. Provides strategic leadership and oversight for the district's comprehensive assessment program. Responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating local, state, and federal assessment initiatives to ensure compliance, data integrity, and the effective use of student achievement data. Collaborates with district and school leaders to support data-informed decision making, continuous improvement efforts, accountability requirements, and instructional planning.
Oversees assessment administration, reporting, training, and communication with stakeholders while ensuring equitable and secure testing practices across the district. Provide administrative supervision and support to team members, participate in the development of policies and procedures, and oversee the department's budget management.
Job Duties
- Provides technical expertise to the department, working on issues that require in-depth knowledge of the functional area.
- Develops and manages a district-wide assessment plan, including creating tools and strategies to gather data and monitor student achievement.
- Oversees the implementation of assessment-related activities across the district to ensure compliance with educational standards and assessment requirements.
- Utilizes the district's student data system to measure student performance over time, informing educational decision-making processes.
- Supervises evaluation of assigned personnel and provides technical support as well as professional learning to school staff responsible for local and state assessments.
- Supports all aspects of the state online test management system, ensuring accuracy, statutory compliance, and monitoring for print orders.
- Researches best practices in assessment programs and practices.
- Assists with creating policies that comply with federal and state laws.
- Monitors local school assessment processes for compliance with federal and state regulations and address non-compliance findings effectively.
- Reviews assessment results regularly for accuracy and update data as needed to support planning for mandated state and local assessments.
- Assists in developing annual budgets related to assessments, monitoring spending carefully and reporting expenditures.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Master's degree in closely related area with a minimum of five (5) years previous experience with demonstrated successful advancement through the teaching and/or school or school system administrative hierarchy preferred. Bachelor's degree and 9+years of progressive field-based leadership experience required.
- GAPSC Support Personnel License is required. Valid GaPSC approved certificate in education leadership at level NL5 is preferred.
