The Water Meter Replacement Technicianisresponsiblefortheroutineremovalandinstallationofsmall -diameterresidentialwatermeters(typically5/8"to1").Thisrolefocusesonmodernizingutilityinfrastructurebyreplacingmanual-readmeterswith

Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) or Automated Meter Reading (AMR) technology.

Thisisahigh-volume,field-basedpositionrequiringefficiency,attentiontodetail,andprofessionalcustomerinteraction.

• Meter Installation:
  
  Systematicallyremoveoldwatermetersandinstallnewhigh-accuracy units,ensuringproperalignment,orientation,andleak-free connections.
• Efficiency:
  
  Abilitytocompleteasetquotaofmeterreplacementspershiftwithoutcompromisingquality.
• Data Capture:
  
  Accuratelyrecordserialnumbers,finalreadingsofoldmeters,andinitialreadingsofnewmetersusinghandheldtabletsormobilesoftware.
• System Testing:
  
  Conductonsitepressureandleaktestsfollowinginstallationtoensuretheserviceisfullyrestoredandfunctioningcorrectly.
• Troubleshooting:
  
  Identifyandreportplumbingissuesatthemeterbox,suchasleakingvalves,corroded pipes,orobstructedaccess.
• Site Restoration:
  
  Ensuremeterboxesareclean,lidsaresecurelyreplaced,andthesurroundingresidentialpropertyisleftinitsoriginalcondition.
• Accuracy:
  
  Zerotolerancefordataentryerrors,asmeterreadingsdirectlyimpactcustomerbilling.
• Customer Service:
  
  Provideprofessionalnotificationtoresidentsbeforeshuttingoffwaterandanswerbasicquestionsregardingtheupgradeprocess.
• Professionalism:
  
  Maintainingacleanuniformandvehiclewhileservingasthe"face"oftheutilityorcontractingcompany.

• Constructionexperienceispreferred.
• Mechanical Aptitude:
  
  Proficiencywithbasichandtools(pipe wrenches,channel locks,wiresnips) andtheabilitytoworkwithvariouspipematerials(copper,PVC,galvanized).
• Digital Literacy:
  
  AbilitytooperateGPS-enabledhandhelddevicesandspecialized
  
  Work Order Management Software .
• Plumbing Knowledge:
  
  Basicunderstandingofresidentialwaterserviceconfigurationsandbackflowprevention.
• Valid driver’slicensewithacleandrivingrecord.

• Abilitytolift,carry,andmoveheavymaterials(oftenupto

• Goodhand-eyecoordinationandmanualdexterityforhandlingtoolsandequipment.
• Physicalendurancetoperformrepetitivetasksthroughouttheworkday.
• Goodbalanceandcoordinationfornavigatinguneventerrainandconstructionsites.
• Abilitytoworkinconfinedspaceswhennecessary.
• Adequatevisionandhearingtomonitorworksitesafetyandoperatemachinery.
• Nosignificantphysicallimitationsorimpairmentsthatwouldhindersafejobperformance.
