Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Installation Technician with strong mechanical aptitude to join our team in the defense industry, specializing in ship building and repair. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and military equipment, requiring technical expertise and hands-on experience with assembly, fasteners, adhesives, and handheld power tools. The position demands frequent travel to various shipyards and facilities to support manufacturing plant maintenance and ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and test commercial and military equipment, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on ship systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
- Utilize fasteners, adhesives, and handheld power tools for assembly and repair processes.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues, implementing effective solutions to maintain operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support manufacturing plant maintenance and optimize equipment performance.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure long-term reliability of ship systems.
- Document all service activities, including repairs, installations, and testing, with detailed technical reports.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and industry regulations, particularly in defense-related projects.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in field service, maintenance, or repair within ship building, defense, or a related industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using fasteners, adhesives, and handheld power tools.
- Technical expertise in installing and testing commercial and military equipment.
- Experience with assembly processes and manufacturing plant maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Willingness to travel frequently to various shipyards and facilities, including potential international assignments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks for defense-related work.

This position requires 2 plus years’ experience. US citizenship, green card, perm resident is required. A generous salary $20.00 to $30.00 hourly, plus bonus, PTO, 401k, and medical benefits will be provided.
