Senior Network Engineer

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Networking
• Strong customer service abilities through email, telephone, and in-person interactions
• Positive mindset and problem-solving approach towards technical challenges
• Self‑motivated individual capable of juggling multiple projects and tasks efficiently
• Willingness to work collaboratively with teammates to exchange knowledge and expertise
• Proficient in assessing, documenting, and understanding existing network setups across various brands
• In‑depth knowledge of effective Cyber‑Security practices, particularly network segmentation
• Familiarity with firewalls, switches, and WiFi solutions, including their configuration and troubleshooting
• Skilled in configuring and resolving different types of VPN connections
• Comprehensive understanding of switching protocols including VLANs, trunking, STP, and POE
• Grasp of network monitoring, alerting, and automation techniques
• Detail‑oriented, particularly regarding network configuration management, documentation, and cable organization
• Experience in documenting infrastructure, including creating and updating network diagrams using tools like Visio and Autodesk
• Solid understanding of Azure Networking concepts, including Azure Firewalls and NSGs
• Expert in fundamental networking concepts such as WAN, LAN, VLAN, IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, IPS, VPN, NAT, VoIP, and network security best practices
• Ability to design and manage WiFi networks from various vendors, primarily Sophos and Meraki
• Willingness to travel as some on‑site customer visits may require overnight stays or air travel

• Assist clients in designing networks, both on‑site and in the cloud
• Ensure networks are dependable, cost‑efficient, and align with client security requirements
• Conduct site surveys for new and existing clients
• Design new or update existing networks utilizing best practices
• Aid in onboarding clients and documenting current infrastructure
• Serve as the primary escalation point for networking challenges from the helpdesk or other engineers
• Provide secondary support for server configurations for both on‑premises and cloud clients
• Occasionally travel to customer locations in the Boston area and across the U.S. for network installation and maintenance
