Engineer V Mechanical

Experience in the design and/or operation of PWR and/or BWR plants, including primary and secondary systems, is required. Past experience with feasibility studies, equipment reliability issues, system modifications, and upgrades to improve safety and reliability is desired. Candidates should demonstrate independent judgment in calculations, modifications, and designs, and be able to present and justify modification packages during quality and safety reviews.

Superior technical knowledge of the mechanical discipline and the ability to collaborate with project teams and equipment vendors are essential.

Knowledge of applicable codes and standards in the nuclear power industry, as well as federal and state regulations (including NRC), is necessary. Excellent communication skills, proficiency in Mathcad and Microsoft Office, and the ability to manage multiple projects are required. Candidates must pass security and drug screening, and be able to access nuclear plant environments, including climbing ladders and entering confined spaces.

Overtime and travel to client sites are expected.

Minimum qualifications include:

• BS in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least 15 years of experience, with 8+ in the nuclear power industry.
• Experience in design, operation, calculations, feasibility studies, and system upgrades.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and time management skills.

Preferred qualifications include an MS in mechanical engineering and Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification.
