Housekeeper Job in Stony Brook, New York

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeper/Cook to provide exceptional support to a welcoming family of six. This household includes two parents, three children (two teens and a 6‑year‑old), and a live‑in nanny. The family also has two friendly dogs — an 8‑year‑old French Bulldog and a Boston Terrier puppy — so a pet‑friendly attitude is a must!

Salary: $95,000 per year
Hours: 10 AM – 8 PM

This position combines maintaining a clean, organized home with preparing nutritious, family‑style meals. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to plan and cook simple, delicious meals that respect the family’s dietary needs — gluten‑free, corn‑free, dairy‑free.

• Prepare daily family meals, typically served at 12:00 PM and 7:00 PM (e.g., steak with potatoes and vegetables, tacos, pasta with salad).
• Plan weekly menus based on family preferences and dietary restrictions.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and ensure proper food handling and safety.
• Perform daily housekeeping for the 3,200 sq. ft. home, including cleaning four bathrooms.
• Handle family laundry for four family members (not including the live‑in nanny or the youngest child’s laundry).
• Help keep household supplies stocked and organized.
• Be comfortable working in a pet‑friendly home and assisting with light pet care as needed.

• Proven experience as a housekeeper/cook in a private household.
• Knowledge of safe food handling and basic nutrition, especially for gluten‑free, dairy‑free, and corn‑free diets.
• Ability to plan simple, balanced meals for a busy family.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Pet‑friendly and comfortable around dogs.
• Trustworthy, reliable, and able to maintain discretion and respect for the family’s privacy.

• Must have experience in domestic housekeeping and cooking.
• CLEANING AGENCIES will not be considered.
• Must be eligible to work in the USA without visa sponsorship.
