Job Description – Teacher (Infant/Toddler)
QualificationsRequired: Associate’s degree (foreign or higher) or 60 credits, or completion of an early childhood accredited course. Alternatively, two (2) years of full‑time childcare experience or one (1) year of early childhood experience with children 5 years and under.
Preferred: Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, additional years of experience with children 5 years and under, and experience in a full‑day early childhood/child‑care setting.
ResponsibilitiesProvide high‑quality care and education to children 2 months to 3 years in an infant/toddler multi‑age grouping at Stony Brook Child Care Services, Inc. The Center is a practicum site for undergraduate interns, supervised by this staff member.
- Teaching: Meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of children 2 months to 3 years in accordance with Stony Brook philosophy.
- Administration: Participate in scheduling, curriculum adaptation, facility monitoring, and supply availability.
- Student Intern Program: Supervise and mentor undergraduate interns and assist in grading and seminars.
- Other duties as assigned.
Full‑time appointment. Salary range: N3 salary grade, starting range noted below.
