Assistant​/Associate​/Full Professor, Psychiatry, Neuroimaging AI Research; Tenure-Track

Overview

The Department of Psychiatry at the Renaissance School of Medicine is seeking an investigator with expertise in the development, validation, and implementation of AI applications to neuroimaging. In psychiatry, there is an increasing focus on using AI to perform whole brain analyses that identify neural signatures of mental disorders. This hire will support AI research across Stony Brook University and SUNY-wide by leading solutions to data harmonization and data sharing, outlining and recommending protocols for acquisition and processing of neuroimaging data to facilitate pooling of data from individual studies for larger datasets and cutting-edge AI research.

The incumbent will evaluate newly published AI models and recommend which models should be deployed in analysis of neuroimaging data and how to deploy them. The incumbent will also lead efforts to implement and disseminate data analytic pipelines validated in their lab for use by other researchers across SUNY."

• Lead data harmonization and data sharing initiatives across Stony Brook University and SUNY-wide.
• Outline and recommend acquisition and processing protocols for neuroimaging data to enable pooling of data across studies.
• Evaluate newly published AI models and provide recommendations on deployment for neuroimaging analyses and best deployment practices.
• Lead efforts to implement and disseminate validated data analytic pipelines, enabling researchers across SUNY to apply these tools effectively.
• Collaborate with a working group of neuroscientists interested in AI; participate in regular video conference meetings to promote inclusivity across departments and SUNY schools.

• Required Qualifications: Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degree (or foreign equivalent). Full-time availability. Research publications on AI technologies in neuroimaging.
• Preferred Qualifications: Demonstration of academic accomplishment, including prior and current research experience and productivity; track record of externally funded research.
