The Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology is recruiting a faculty member whose research explains biological systems at the molecular level. The search emphasizes structure, molecular interactions and dynamics and is particularly compatible with reconstituted purified systems, single-molecule methods, enzymology, biophysics and high-resolution structural approaches such as cryo-EM or crystallography. The successful candidate is expected to build an independent externally funded research programme while contributing to teaching, mentoring and departmental service.
The role is a tenure-track Assistant Professor appointment within Stony Brook's broader molecular and cellular biology research environment.
