Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher).
- Three (3) years of full‑time coaching experience at the college level in soccer.
- In lieu of college‑level coaching, a combination of four (4) years of coaching experience at high school, college, professional, or national team level and playing experience at college, professional, or national team level.
- Understanding of NCAA Compliance Rules (played a Division I, II or III sport, coached in collegiate athletics or as a staff member in a collegiate athletic program).
- Prior experience with recruiting.
- Prior experience with skill instruction.
- Prior experience with practice and game plan development.
- Experience in administrative responsibilities in the sport of Soccer (e.g. team scheduling, budget preparation & administration, facility usage, public relations, fundraising, community service and other daily operations for the program).
- Previous experience with a Division I Athletic Program.
Brief Description of Duties: This position is an Assistant Coach for a Division I program in the sport of soccer and will assist the head coach and assistant coach in all aspects of operating a successful program. The role includes recruiting, managing the recruiting process from start to finish, awarding athletics scholarships, teaching and skill development of student‑athletes, and overseeing extensive daily administrative operations.
Recruiting and Talent Identification: Independently evaluate prospective student‑athletes, initiate correspondence, maintain relationships with coaches and prospects, manage prospect database, and ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and university regulations.
Student‑Athlete Skill Instruction/Team and Game Preparation: Teach all basic and advanced skills required in Women’s Soccer. Develop and implement safe practice plans, prepare comprehensive and strategic game plans, evaluate upcoming opponents, and prepare scouting reports.
Administrative Responsibilities: Organize and coordinate a wide variety of administrative tasks such as team travel, contest scheduling, budget preparation & administration, facility usage, public relations, marketing, fundraising, community service, and other daily operations for the program.
Monitoring of Academic Progress: Oversee academic success of student‑athletes, assist with academic problems, supervise study halls, check class attendance, and conduct weekly and monthly academic meetings.
Special NotesThis is a full‑time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption. In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $4,000 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly. Evening and weekend work may be required this position, we are unable to sponsor candidates for work visas.
