Overview
The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by Store Management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities).
Responsibilities- Sales Generation and Guest Service
- Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and consistently provide legendary service to each Guest.
- Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
- Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs and desires.
- Anticipate and fulfill Guest’s needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience.
- Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education, sharing that knowledge with the Team.
- Maintain and share knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
- Be consistent on personal sales and contribute to Teammates’ presentations with the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG).
- Achieve personal sales-per-hour, average sales and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
- Provide legendary service throughout the store in Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and the register area.
- Help Guests try on or fit merchandise and assist with checkout and bagging.
- Prepare merchandise for alterations and understand exchange/return procedures to create a positive guest experience.
- Use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to achieve goals.
- Meet or exceed performance standards in Buckle business builders and guest loyalty activities (e.g., fit appointments, Buckle credit card, guest connect).
- Place Special Orders or contact other stores to find desired merchandise.
- Maintain and build good Guest relationships to develop a client-based business.
- Develop knowledge of Buckle’s customer service expectations to meet Guest needs.
- Maintain high standards at all times, including when management is not present.
- Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development
- Recognize recruiting opportunities via Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals and Teammate recommendations.
- Create relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred programs.
- Maintain a professional and respectful attitude to foster a positive floor culture.
- Visual Merchandise Management
- Present merchandise to maximize sales and optimize merchandise turn.
- Stay current on product range and collaborate with teammates and guests on product improvements and feedback.
- Ensure the sales floor is sized appropriately and new freight is displayed.
- Operations
- Maintain a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday periods based on store needs.
- Open/close cash registers, balance cash drawers, and handle deposits.
- Monitor security risks and follow Loss Prevention guidelines and policy.
- Know POS procedures and payment/exchange policies.
- Perform merchandising tasks, such as handling freight, re-merchandising, displays, price markdowns, and transfers.
- Keep the store clean, organized, and shoppable; provide feedback to leadership on merchandising concerns.
- Communicate policy violations and concerns to Store Manager, District Manager, and Human Resources.
- Understand and apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and policies.
- Contribute to the mission with high levels of customer service and positive team spirit.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
