The Cleaning Technician will be responsible for cleaning assigned areas of the school site. Tasks include maintaining cleanliness, operating cleaning equipment, and ensuring health & safety procedures are followed. The role requires confidentiality, teamwork and a proactive attitude.

• Clean assigned areas of the school site as directed by the cleaner in charge.
• Use cleaning materials and operate cleaning machinery such as vacuum cleaners and polishers.
• Vacuum hard and soft floors, spot‑clean spillages, and wipe furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors and polish door glass and windows.
• Empty and clean waste and recycling bins.
• Clean toilets, including sanitary fittings and surroundings, and replenish supplies.
• Mop and spray‑clean hard floor surfaces.
• Ensure windows are closed, lights are switched off and doors are locked after work.
• Report misuse, vandalism or hazards to the Head‑Cleaner.
• Assist with holiday deep‑cleaning, stripping and sealing floors, removing chewing gum, high‑level dusting, wall washing and moving furniture for deep cleaning.
• Undertake additional cleaning duties as directed by the Cleaning Area Supervisor or Soft Services Manager.
• Ensure all health & safety procedures are followed in accordance with company policies.

• BICSc certification preferred but not essential; full training will be provided.
• Track record of delivering a similar role.
• Experience in a multi‑site cleaning environment.

• Pro‑active and self‑driven.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to form relationships with clients and exceed customer expectations.
• Approachable demeanour and commitment to teamwork.
