The CRNP functions as an advanced practitioner providing healthcare for a caseload of patients in the area of clinical specialization. The NP examines and treats patients independently and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals following established standards and practices. The NP ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. The NP works under minimal supervision under the direction of the collaborating physician, as appropriate, and may lead and/or direct the work of others within the scope of practice.
The NP assists the collaborating physician with patient admissions and discharges.
Master’s degree with Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification from an accredited program;
Current Active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)/Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state where the hospital resides;
Current ACLS and Healthcare Provider/BLS certifications required;
Current national certification with an accredited testing organization.
Minimum 3 years of acute experience, critical access care required.
Physician AssistantAssist the collaborating physician in coordinating patient admissions and discharges. Responsibilities include reviewing patient records, obtaining relevant health and medical histories, performing physical examinations, and documenting pertinent findings in the medical record. Conduct patient rounds to monitor progress and assess overall health status. Perform or order appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures, and formulate differential diagnoses as indicated. Manage cases by identifying individual patient needs based on collected data and implementing physician-directed treatment plans, which may include both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
Prescribe medications and treatments as authorized under the Medical Practice Act, Chapter 157. Provide patient and family counseling and education, initiate appropriate consults and referrals for specialized services and multidisciplinary support, and continuously reassess and adjust the plan of care as needed to achieve optimal medical and health outcomes.
The applicant must demonstrate successful completion of an educational program for physician assistants accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, or by that committee’s predecessor or successor entities. Current unrestricted State license as a Physician Assistant. Applicant must hold a valid and current certificate issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) and must possess a current ACLS certification.
The applicant will submit evidence of continuing education (CE) as required by their state licensing board. Physician Assistants are required to complete 40 hours of Continuing Medical Education per year.
Prefer at least 12 months of clinical PA experience. The applicant must have a collaborating or sponsoring physician who is an active member of the medical staff and is listed with the State Medical Board as supervising physician for this applicant. The applicant must have acceptable peer references acquainted with his or her current professional status and have firsthand knowledge of his or her clinical abilities.
