Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Dialysis Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the dialysis unit. The RN plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post‑hospitalization, and accessing community resources.
May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).
- Provide direct patient care in the dialysis unit.
- Utilize the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care.
- Plan, coordinate, and provide patient care with interdisciplinary planning and discharge planning.
- Teach patients and families about post‑hospitalization care.
- Access community resources for patients.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Serve as Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).
- RN license in the state of application.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification (required after 90 days of employment; preferred initially).
- Certification through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) preferred but not required.
- Strong communication, teaching, and organizational skills.
