Responsibilities- Lead a team of Material Control Supervisors across all sites to oversee material utilization in trailer and chassis production.
- Develop and implement plans for material presentation, delivery, and management from receipt to shipment.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Suppliers to apply Kanbans and lean methods for material management.
- Design storage plans within sites using lean principles.
- Establish best practices for inventory forecasting, purchasing, and material control systems.
- Prepare customer delivery reports and communicate potential delays proactively.
- Supervise production scheduling by monitoring inventories and progress.
- Coordinate with quality, engineering, machining, and assembly to ensure on-time delivery.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through system management and discrepancy correction.
- Work with management to prepare budgets, analyze variances, and control costs.
- Participate in MRB and CAR meetings to resolve quality issues.
- Collaborate across departments to meet cost reduction targets.
- Maintain a safe work environment adhering to regulations.
- Attend scheduled hours and maintain good attendance.
- Comply with company policies and contribute to team efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field.
- APICS certification is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in materials and logistics management in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and related methodologies.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Familiarity with inventory pull systems and supplier managed inventory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills.
- Technical writing and record-keeping skills.
- Financial analysis skills.
