Primary Responsibilities
- Process and organize design, engineering, shop, field, and erection drawings for release to fabrication and field teams.
- Maintain accurate digital files (approvals, releases, revisions, as-builts, superseded, voided) and ensure the latest drawings are clearly labeled, controlled, and accessible to all operations.
- Distribute drawing updates, ABMs, CNC/CAM files, and documentation to the appropriate teams, ensuring accurate and timely communication across all operations.
- Support fabrication, processing, purchasing, quality, and safety by ensuring they receive complete and accurate information aligned with the most current revisions.
- Assist in monitoring drawing-driven deadlines for engineering updates, fabrication releases, material needs, and sequencing priorities.
- Identify inefficiencies in how drawings and documents flow through the organization and recommend improvements to workflows, checklists, digital processes, and communication paths.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance productivity through automation, improved document routing, simplification, or standardization.
- Establish daily habits using AI-based tools (ex: automation aids, data-checking tools, document organization prompts) to streamline repetitive tasks, strengthen analysis, and improve decision-making.
- Seek ongoing professional development to expand technical knowledge, documentation skills, digital workflow capabilities, and continuous improvement competencies.
- Welcome feedback and incorporate observations from team reviews, using constructive criticism as fuel for improvement.
- Champion innovation by introducing new ideas, technologies, or approaches to strengthen drawing control, document accuracy, and operational flow.
- Experience in structural steel, construction, or fabrication
- Background in CNC/CAM file workflows or drawing revision control
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Tekla EPM and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
