Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get the products they want and need.Check product quality to ensure freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.Provide customers with fresh and non-perishable grocery products they have ordered.Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions.Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing assistance.Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.Notify management of customer or employee accidents.Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively.Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Qualifications
