The Water Exercise Instructor is responsible for facilitating appropriate instruction of water exercise for each class as scheduled for the facility.

Reports to:

Aquatics Program Director

• Follow facility rules and regulations in all areas
• Respond to emergencies following facility emergency action plan
• Greet and check in participants to daily water exercise class
• Instruct an aerobic activity session that utilizes the water as the means of workout, use of music preferred
• Ensure each participant receives proper instruction for his or her safety as well as workout desires
• Be prepared for each class by setting up equipment prior to class and returning equipment you used during classes
• Accurately complete all necessary records and reports
• Attend clinics, seminars and other courses to continue updating class content and maintain personal interest
• Comply with the staff rules and procedures as defined in the employee handbook

• All other duties as assigned which relate to the functions of the job

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• National Certification for Aerobics or Water Exercise preferred, if you are not certified a minimum of 1-year water exercise teaching experience required
• Current certification in First Aid and CPR from a nationally recognized association (AHA, Red Cross etc.)
• Ability to respond to emergencies in a professional and mature manner
• Good communications and leadership skill

Requirements of

Essential Functions:

Occasional (1-33%) bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, walking, squatting reaching and stair climbing in order to perform essential job functions

Lifting: 0-10 pounds constantly (66-100%)
10-25 pounds frequently (34-66%)
Over 50 pounds occasionally (1-33%)
