A Construction Utilities Foreman oversees and manages crews installing and maintaining underground utilities like water, sewer, and storm lines, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. Responsibilities include pipe-laying, trenching, and operating heavy equipment, as well as supervising workers, coordinating with other teams, and maintaining safety standards.

• Supervision and Leadership
  • Leading a crew of utility workers, assigning tasks, and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently
• Project Management
  • Planning daily work schedules, coordinating with project managers and other teams, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
• Technical Expertise
  • Proficient in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground utilities, including water, sewer, and storm systems
• Safety Management
  • Enforcing safety regulations, conducting daily job site inspections, and ensuring a safe working environment for the crew
• Equipment Operation
  • Operating various types of heavy equipment, such as trenchers, backhoes, and other machinery used in utility construction
• Record Keeping
  • Maintaining accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent by the crew

• Experience
  • Significant experience in construction, particularly in utility work, is essential
• Leadership
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate a team
• Technical Knowledge
  • Problem solve and resolve issues that may arise during construction
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Safety Certifications
  • May require certifications such as OSHA 30 or other safety training certifications
