Design Engineer

A design engineer at Anderson International Corp will be partnering with the team as they develop, test, modify and create solutions to the technical problems in the manufacturing of capital equipment.

• Plan, direct, and/or coordinate engineering activities with engineering teams
• Confer with Sales and marketing staff to discuss project specifications or procedures
• Research, develop and design of new products and procedures
• Analyze technology, resource needs, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects
• Set scientific and technical goals within broad outlines provided by top management
• Discuss and layout product specifications
• Make detailed plans to accomplish goals including schedules and Gantt charts and hold team accountable to timelines
• Develop cost estimates
• Check technical accuracy of work
• Coordinate activities of the unit with other units within the organization
• Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services
• 10-20% domestic travel as needed to visit customer site and assess equipment

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering

• 5-10 years of Design Engineering experience
• Machine design experience
• Previous experience directing large scale engineering projects
• Previous experience using 3-D modeling software, preferably Solid Works
• Must have good communication skills with both employees and outside vendors
• Must be inquisitive, highly motivated self-starter and able to manage his/her own time wisely
• Strong relationship builder
• Strong communication skills (oral and written)
