NXTGEN is recruiting a Temporary Management Accountant to support a growing, multi-entity organisation based in Mid Suffolk.

This assignment will suit an experienced finance professional who can quickly take ownership of month-end reporting across several entities, maintain strong financial controls and work confidently with operational stakeholders. You will join an established finance team during a busy period of growth and change, providing additional capacity while ensuring reporting remains accurate and deadlines are met.

The role

Key responsibilities will include:

* Preparing monthly management accounts across allocated group entities

* Posting journals and managing accruals and prepayments

* Completing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations

* Supporting revenue calculations, intercompany accounting and fixed assets

* Producing VAT returns, KPI analysis and additional financial reporting

* Investigating variances and resolving outstanding accounting issues

* Liaising with operational teams to understand activity and its financial impact

* Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow analysis

* Assisting with year-end audit preparation and auditor queries

* Identifying opportunities to improve and standardise finance processes

* Providing cover and support across the wider management accounting team

The successful candidate

You will ideally have:

* Previous experience producing monthly management accounts within a multi-entity environment

* AAT Level 4, part-qualified or qualified CIMA/ACCA status, or equivalent experience

* Strong balance sheet reconciliation and month-end reporting experience

* A good understanding of accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions and fixed assets

* Strong analytical and Excel skills

* The ability to work independently and quickly understand existing processes

* A confident, professional approach to working with finance and operational stakeholders

* Immediate or short-notice availability

Experience using Oracle Net Suite or working within an operational, energy, environmental or infrastructure-led business would be advantageous but is not essential.

This is an excellent temporary opportunity to join an ambitious organisation, take ownership of a varied portfolio and support a knowledgeable finance team during an important stage of its development
