Overview

Stowmarket High School has an exciting future. We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Trainee Teacher of Science to join our happy and successful team on a fixed term basis until 31st August 2027. If you hold a degree in a scientific or related discipline, we will work with you to find a teacher training provider and provide a 1 year, salaried, school based, training placement.

  • Tactful and discreet when dealing with confidential matters and sensitive situations
  • Flexible and approachable, with a friendly can-do attitude
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
  • knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies
  • A good understanding of how children learn
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils
  • Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
  • Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
  • Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning
