About the Role

Looking for a permanent part-time role with regular weekday hours, term-time working and your weekends free?

At Wetheringsett Manor School, we’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Domestic Assistant to join our friendly team. Working just 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 4pm–7pm, this could be a great opportunity if you’re looking for work that fits around family life, other commitments or simply gives you more time during the day.

Set within 17 acres of beautiful Suffolk parkland, Wetheringsett Manor is a specialist school supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Your role may happen behind the scenes, but the difference you make will be seen every day. By keeping our school clean, safe and welcoming, you’ll help create an environment where pupils feel comfortable, colleagues can do their best work and our whole school community can thrive.

If you take pride in a job well done and would like to become part of a supportive school team, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

Working alongside our friendly Domestic team, you’ll help keep Wetheringsett Manor looking its best by:

  • Cleaning classrooms, communal areas and other designated spaces to a high standard.
  • Vacuuming, mopping, dusting and completing general cleaning duties.
  • Emptying bins and disposing of waste safely and responsibly.
  • Ensuring rooms are clean, welcoming and ready for the next school day.
  • Using cleaning products and equipment safely and following Health & Safety procedures.
  • Reporting maintenance, damage or safety concerns promptly.
  • Working together with colleagues to maintain consistently high standards across the school.
  • Supporting our commitment to safeguarding and providing a safe environment for children and young people.
Who We’re Looking For

You don’t necessarily need previous school cleaning experience, we’re looking for someone with the right attitude who:

  • Takes pride in creating clean, welcoming spaces.
  • Is reliable, punctual and has excellent attention to detail.
  • Can work independently and use their own initiative.
  • Enjoys being part of a friendly and supportive team.
  • Has a positive, practical and can-do approach.
  • Understands the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and safety.
  • Is respectful and professional when working within a school environment.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people.
