Production Manager
Location:
Stowmarket, Suffolk
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum

Compass Point Recruitment has an exciting opportunity to join a market-leading supplier of precision devices as a senior member of the team.
As Production Manager, you will play a key role supporting Senior Management in the day-to-day organisation of Production, Planning, and Logistics. You will also oversee the seamless introduction of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects in collaboration with the engineering team, ensuring production runs smoothly, budgets are met, and deadlines are achieved.
We are looking for an energetic, methodical, and driven individual with experience in Production Management or Senior Manufacturing / Engineering, ready to make an immediate impact.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, motivate, and develop the Production, Planning, and Logistics team.
• Ensure production targets are met on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Manage NPI projects, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to prepare for manufacture.
• Drive Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Monitor demand, costs, and resources, using external suppliers where needed.
• Manage production scheduling, prioritisation, stock, and WIP reporting.
• Translate strategic goals into actionable operational plans.
Essential
Skills & Qualifications
• Proven production management experience, ideally in mechanical or precision engineering.
• HNC in Engineering (minimum).
• Project management qualification or demonstrable experience.
• Lean / Six Sigma qualification with practical application (5S, Kaizen, VSM, FMEA, Visual Management).
• Experience delivering NPI projects.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills.
• Experience with MRP systems and production IT tools.
