Sales Assistant

THE EMPLOYER IS: TRADESMAN NIThe Sales Assistant is responsible for delivering friendly, knowledgeable customer service across both hardware and workwear departments. This role involves helping customers find the right tools, equipment, and protective clothing for their jobs, while supporting day-to-day store operations in a safe, organized, and efficient retail environment.

• Assisting customers, answering questions, and helping them find the right tools or materials.
• Understanding basic hardware, tools, fasteners, and home improvement supplies.
• Restocking shelves, organising displays, and keeping aisles clean and accessible.
• Handling cash, processing card payments, returns, and exchanges accurately.
• Following store safety procedures and properly handling heavy or hazardous materials.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn product knowledge and safety requirements.
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred but not essential.
• Knowledge of hardware, tools, trade supplies, or workwear is an advantage.
• Experience fitting or selling PPE and safety footwear is a plus.
